A Legacy of Equal Justice
Founded in 1949, the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County (LASPBC) has a longstanding commitment to ensuring equal access to justice for all people. We provide free, high-quality civil legal services to our most vulnerable neighbors.
A Powerful Legal Team
LASPBC has grown into one of Florida’s largest legal aid organizations. Our team boasts over 55 licensed attorneys, making us a leading law firm in the county. We are further supported by a dedicated team of paralegals, advocates, social workers, case managers, and administrative staff. Our lawyers represent clients in all state and federal courts within Palm Beach County and some neighboring counties, as well as various government administrative law courts.
Empowering Our Clients
Navigating the legal system can be overwhelming, especially when facing challenges like eviction, foreclosure, domestic abuse, or denied government benefits. LASPBC ensures fair representation for those who might otherwise struggle to be heard.
Beyond the Courtroom
Our impact goes beyond litigation. LASPBC staff are present at community centers, festivals, parades, the Veterans Administration, community health centers and more. We educate residents on their legal rights and empower them to avoid becoming victims.
The Power of Pro Bono
Our success depends on Pro Bono (volunteer) attorneys. These dedicated individuals allow us to serve more community members and create positive change. Pro Bono opportunities are diverse, ranging from clinic participation and casework to note review and project development.
Community Support
LASPBC operates thanks to the generosity of individual donors, foundation grants, and limited government funding. Volunteers play a vital role in fundraising efforts. Community members host events, and bar associations and corporations hold fundraisers to benefit LASPBC.
Our Mission
To provide high quality civil legal advice, representation, and education free of charge to the most vulnerable and at-risk children, families, elders, veterans and individuals in Palm Beach County so as to protect their personal safety, enhance their opportunities and living conditions, and promote self-sufficiency.
