A message from our Executive Director Robert Bertisch

Bob Bertisch 2

The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County joins in the call for racial, social and economic justice and an end to the systemic racism that threatens the lives of black men, women and children. For over 70 years we have advocated for racial, social and economic justice and stand united with those all over the globe who seek a world where our core values of treating every person with dignity and respect and celebrating the diversity and uniqueness of every individual are truly honored and revered regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or other protected status.

During these trying times we will continue to dedicate ourselves to the needs of our low-income and vulnerable communities by working to ensure access to safe and affordable housing, healthcare, education, employment, government benefits, supporting small minority businesses and protection from domestic violence.

We must fight for a better world, a world that will one day be free of racism and discrimination. We must demand reform of systems that continue to oppress communities of color and fight for a better world for future generations.

By standing united we demonstrate our everlasting commitment to ensuring equal access to justice for all.

Since 1949, Legal Aid of Palm Beach County has helped our community’s most vulnerable and fragile citizens get access to their basic rights for shelter, food, health care, safety, education and much more. Our lawyers and staff provide a voice to those who aren’t heard and give them a fighting chance to gain many of life’s most basic needs.

None of this would be possible without the backing of attorneys, businesses, funders and donors like you, who have given us the privilege of changing countless lives.

Thank you for your continued support.
