Ellen Malasky, Esq

May 15, 2017 - Ellen Malasky joined Florida Power & Light as Senior Attorney for Labor and Employment law in 2004 and was promoted to Managing Attorney.  After successfully building the in-house Labor and Employment Law group, she became Senior Counsel for Employment Litigation and Safety to develop this specialty in-house. 

Ellen has served her clients as advisor and litigator in employment and labor law matters for over 20 years.  She has successfully represented employers in union negotiations and arbitrations, before the EECO and other state and local agencies, in hearings before the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division as well as Unemployment Compensation Claims. 

In addition to serving on the Legal Aid Board, she has served as chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association labor and Employment Law Committee, and served two terms as chair of the Judicial Relations Committee.  She is also a past member of the Trial Lawyers Association and former member of Craig S. Barnard LIV Inns of Court. 

Prior to joining NextEra Energy, Inc.,  Ellen was in private practice for 16 years having started her career at Alley, Maass, Rogers & Lindsay, P.A. in Palm Beach and holding the position as head or co-chair of employment law departments at Foley & Lardner, Gunster, and Ward, Damon & Posner.  Her practice over the years has included complex commercial litigation, family law and business law.  She lectures extensively.  Ellen received her Bachelor’s Degree from Skidmore College and her law degree from Pace University School of Law.
