Relative Caregiver Project Staff

Supervising Attorney Judith Migdal-Mack and Paralegal Lanice Peterson make up the Relative Caregiver Project team. Judith has worked at Legal Aid for nine years and represents individuals raising minor relatives, relatives requiring Guardian Advocacy for children turning 18 years old, and relative adoptions. Prior to joining Legal Aid, she was a partner in Migdal & Migdal, P.A., with her cousin for 20 years. They specialized in all juvenile matters, including dependency, delinquency, termination of parental rights and adoption. Judith is a certified family mediator since 1998 and continues to handle family mediations for the Alternate Dispute Resolution and Mediation Office for Palm Beach County. She continues to strive to help children in our community. She is an active member of the Children’s Issues Committee of the Family Section of the Florida Bar as well as the Lawyers for Literacy, National Adoption Day and Law Day Committees.

Judith received her Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern Law School, her Master of Science Degree from City University of New York, Queens and her Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College. Judith and her husband Kenneth have been married for 30 years. Their daughter Meredith is an interior designer and they also have a dog named Mason. Although she has spent the majority of her life in Florida, she will always consider herself a New Yorker!

Relative Caregiver Paralegal Lanice Peterson is one of Legal Aid’s newest employees. Lanice is a Palm Beach County native and has worked as a Paralegal for 14 years. She is married with one son, and enjoys reading and spending time with her family. We welcome Lanice to Legal Aid and are happy to have her on board.
