February 27, 2017 - Shane O’Meara is our Immigrant Advocacy Project’s Supervising Attorney. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Delaware and his Juris Doctor degree from the Florida State University, College of Law.Shane has been representing foreign nationals before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals for the last 18 years. He has also represented noncitizen children in dependency proceedings and foreign nationals appealing adverse public assistance decisions before the Social Security Administration and the Florida Department of Children and Families. He specializes in assisting immigrants who are disabled, homeless, coping with HIV or other serious illness as well as victims of domestic violence, violent crime, human trafficking and child abuse, neglect or abandonment. In addition, he has conducted well over 100 educational presentations for governmental agencies and non-profit organizations.
